1. Regulation without representation is tyranny.

2. The first amendment guarantees Americans the right to be represented in the making of regulations they will live under.

3. Private citizens have no representation in the regulations that the BLM writes, enforces and ultimately will judge disputes, yet we are forced to obey.

Judge shoots down final handgun ban in the U.S.

In a significant victory for gun rights, a federal court ruled Monday that the long-standing and near total ban by the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands against the ownership and importation of handguns is unconstitutional.

Guns.com reports:

The suit, brought by U.S. Navy veteran David J. Radich and his wife, Li-Rong, challenged the commonwealth government’s anti-gun policies, particularly its total ban on handguns and refusal to issue permits for long arms.

We’ve had a great turnout this year for the Ada County Precinct Committeeman races!

We have over 100 candidates running for the 145 precinct seats. Once again, “establishment” Republicans have recruited a small army of government employees and lobbyists to run against us…these are people who have a personal interest in the status quo. At their next meeting, I will be strongly encouraging the Idaho Republican State Central Committee to pass a conflict of interest rule that would prohibit registered lobbyists from also having party positions.

Obama Halts New Coal Mining Leases on Federal Land

In a move seen by many critics of President Barack Obama as a continuation of his administration’s “war on coal,” Interior Secretary Sally Jewell ordered a three-year moratorium on new coal leases on federal land.

Existing coal leases on public land would not be affected by the rule.

In her January 17 announcement of the rule, Jewell cited concerns over coal’s supposed contribution to climate change as the reason for the moratorium, saying the Interior Department will conduct a new analysis of how the extraction and burning of coal could make global climate change more likely.
