Idaho’s Mountain View School District considers allowing armed teachers

Idaho’s Mountain View School District is considering allowing school personnel to carry concealed weapons on its campuses.

It is being reported that the district, which encompasses six schools in Grangeville, Kooskia, and Elk City, is considering a policy that would allow faculty to choose to carry weapons concealed or to keep them secured in a locker. Board members discussed the proposal on Monday.

District Board Chairman Mike Dominquez says one argument in favor of allowing armed faculty is that the district cannot afford to place school resource officers in all six of its schools.

A national livestock industry leader warns proposed changes to the Bureau of Land Management planning process are on the fast track for implementation and threaten public lands grazing.

Ethan Lane, executive director of the Public Lands Council, which represents cattle and sheep ranchers with public lands grazing permits, said senior BLM officials have assured him a final version of the agency’s proposed Planning 2.0 will be released before the current administration leaves office.

Rep. Hudson to Introduce Constitutional Carry-Friendly Reciprocity Bill

After years of waiting, it looks like we will finally be able to get concealed carry reciprocity enacted into law for the entire country.

But we are going to have to go to a full court press to get it.

Democrats are indicating that killing national concealed carry reciprocity is one of their top goals in 2017.

Sad Site Visit to the Copper King Fire

Recently Montana State Senator Jennifer Fielder, who is an active leader with the American Lands Council, toured the scene of the Copper King Fire in Northwest Montana with the United States Forest Service (USFS) and others. This is what she had to say about her firsthand look at the aftermath of the 29,000 acre burn, and efforts to make some good of the disaster:

As we convoyed up a series of bumpy roads, every bend we rounded revealed a new glimpse into an eerie, endless sea of blackened forest.

The following article was written by former Congressman Ron Paul and was originally published in The Free Market 1, no. 1 (Fall 1983). It was recently republished by LewRockwell.com here. Although written more than three decades ago, it is perhaps even more relevant today than it was then.


In 1981 the Federal Register published a declaration from President Reagan: “I determine that it is in the national interest for the Export-Import Bank of the United States to extend a credit in the amount of $120.7 million to the Socialist Republic of Romania (for) the purchase of two nuclear steam turbine generators.”

This loan carried an interest rate of 7¾% for ten years, but the first payment wasn’t due until July 1989.
