Many Idahoans were shocked and appalled when the Idaho Legislature jacked up their taxes and vehicle registration fees in the late-night gimme-fest at the end of the 2015 Legislative session, but Idaho isn’t the only solidly Republican state where lawmakers are eyeing your wallets with lust in their eyes.

The Daily Caller reports that in South Carolina, Republican lawmakers voted to overrule Gov. Henry McMaster’s veto to increase the state’s gas tax and blocked a filibuster.

Technocracy is “a system of governance where decision-makers are selected on the basis of technological knowledge. Scientists, engineers, technologists, or experts in any field, would compose the governing body, instead of elected representatives.” The right to representation is removed from citizens while these “experts”, also known as technocrats, believe they possess impeccable scientific knowledge and are therefore masters of all solutions.

On May 19-20, the Beartooth Front Community Forum — “a grassroots, nonpartisan organization that seeks to retain and enhance the quality of life in the Red Lodge, Montana area” — hosted a two-day event called “Knowing the Land”.

The implication, for the uninitiated, is that this organization provides a neutral platform for speakers to engage with a public audience.

Although this article is regarding Island Park, every Idahoan throughout the state will be affected by the same agenda.

It must be time to transform Island Park into something else using “action plans”. The question is, what needs to be transformed? What in Island Park needs fixing? The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) has been working tirelessly for 10 years, inspecting Island Park with partnering “experts”, creating a list of “problems” they deem necessary to fix, and then creating a plan to fix those problems “they” identified!

Rep Ron Nate: 2017 Legislature Summary – Course Change Needed

Idaho Legislative sessions are usually judged by how well the legislature addresses the most prominent problems facing the state. The 2017 session was no different. The main questions this year were about meeting our growing transportation repair and infrastructure needs and restoring education funding to competitive levels with other states. Transportation got $320 million more funding and education was increased by 6.3% (after a 15% increase over the last two years).
