The undeniable perception was that Bureau of Land Management (BLM) agents using dogs, Tasers, armored vehicles, full body armor and automatic weapons to confront a rancher who was delinquent with his grazing fees, constituted a terrifying overreaction.

The office of Utah Congressman, Jason Chaffetz, issued a press release on January 24 announcing his introduction of legislation to restore equality in law-enforcement authority to Western states.

Ammon Bundy questions authority of feds to prosecute him

The AP is reporting that Ammon Bundy and his attorneys will challenge the federal government’s  jurisdiction over the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon and therefore over Bundy and the other protester’s actions there.

Lawyers for Ammon Bundy plan to argue that the federal government lacks jurisdiction to prosecute him for the takeover of a national wildlife refuge in Oregon.

In court papers filed Friday, attorney Lissa Casey says a forthcoming motion to dismiss the case will challenge the federal government’s authority to assert ownership over the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Feds conspire to send Bundy brothers to prison for life

The feds are piling charges on those who took part in the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge protest, and also adding charges related to the Bundy standoff near Bunkerville, Nevada, in 2014.

With the new charges from both cases, the Bundy brothers could face life in prison if convicted of all charges and given the maximum prison sentences.

It’s not just the Bundys who are being targeted, though.

Bundy convoy ambush location was moved to avoid Grant County Sheriff

During an interview with investigators regarding the murder of LaVoy Finicum, an Oregon State Police (OSP) officer revealed that the ambush of the Bundy convoy was moved from its original planned location because it was feared the Grant County Sheriff wouldn’t sign off on the deadly assault that was being plotted against the protesters.

I knew going into it that there was a sheriff in Grant County that was supporting the movement or the ideology behind what [the occupiers] were pushing.
