Idahoans for Liberty has been around in one iteration or another since 2007.
Although the group began as the grassroots Ron Paul campaign, today Idahoans for Liberty is focused not only on politics, but also on education. We are dedicated to the principles of peace, individual liberty, and free market economics; and we endeavor to educate people on the importance of these foundational principles.
We are neither Republicans nor Libertarians specifically, but we do advocate libertarian values such as private property rights, freedom of association, freedom of contract, and self-ownership. We do not engage in or welcome discrimination, but we do not condone efforts to use the force of government to prevent discrimination on private property.
We support a free market in healthcare, education, and labor; and we do not advocate government constraints on the free movement of goods and individuals. We believe that taxation is theft and therefore we are, as Milton Friedman said, “in favor of cutting taxes under any circumstances and for any excuse, for any reason, whenever it’s possible.”
We oppose the existence of the Federal Reserve (aka “the Fed”) and advocate its immediate abolition.
On foreign policy, we embrace the sage advice of Thomas Jefferson when he advised, “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.”
