If this constitutional amendment were to pass, it would be entirely up to activist judges to decide if the newly-created right to “reasonable protection” from those who are merely accused—but not convicted—of any crime supersedes the right to keep and bear arms.

On Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, the Idaho Senate State Affairs Committee voted 8-1 to advance a controversial ‘Marsy’s Law’ proposal that threatens gun rights, due process, and criminal justice reform here in the Gem State.

The backers of “Marsy’s Law for Idaho” claim that their proposal to modify Idaho’s Constitution will “provide additional rights to crime victims.” On the surface, this may sound like a good idea, but it has several dangerous flaws, including the bypassing of our constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms.

House Votes Decisively to Restore Gun Rights to Veterans

In a decisive 240-175 vote, the U.S. House voted today to restore Second Amendment rights to law-abiding veterans.

Under H.R. 1181, a veteran cannot legally be classified as a “mental defective” without due process. In other words, there must be the order of a judge, magistrate, or judicial authority. And the “judicial authority” must find that the veteran is a “danger to himself or others” before it can take away his guns.

Boise woman uses her concelaed handgun to defeat violent carjacker

Concealed carry has likely saved another life after a Boise, Idaho, woman was able to defeat a violent, would-be carjacker who grabbed her by the hair and beat her in an attempt to steal her car.

KBOI reports:

A woman saved herself from a dangerous situation with her pistol kept in her car Monday.

“I couldn’t believe it, it was shock and fear,” said the unidentified woman.
